It promises to be a sweet one. With the crisp chill in the air and a hankering for soup and grilled cheese comfort, I am optimistic about 2016!
Looking ahead and planning, St. Valentines Day is a little over a month away. Chatting about it with a friend a day or so ago, she had asked what was one thing I made for the holiday that stood out in my memory. It only took a moment to tell her about the heart shaped macaroons I had made for my husband 8 years ago. (Wow, 8 years, really…?) They were filled with raspberry and strawberry preserves and he loved them. So did I. Though, chocolate was not involved, they were a delight in the cold, different, and delicious!
Another Valentines I fondly remember was when I was a kid. My angel mother would have a valentines treat set out for us in the morning to eat with breakfast take to school in our lunches. I remember one year she had make the soft ricotta cookies we all loved.he had tinted the frosting a pale pink, and we each had two. I still remember the them carefully arranged and waiting for my brothers and me on the kitchen table. mmmmm…. I think I might need to make some of these.
I hope St. Valentines brings you a delectable delight!
